Synopsis

BlackBox Biometrics® needed to develop a compelling brand to launch their new product, the Linx IAS™. Todd masterminded the branding strategy for this athletic wearable technology product. This included overseeing logo design, creating high-fidelity wireframes for the accompanying app, rapid-building an ecommerce website, planning and providing creative direction for the initial photoshoot, and producing the launch promo video.

These efforts earned the product immediate attention including a featured image on the second page of USA Today, as well as numerous awards at CES 2015.

Logo design

Linx IAS needed a logo that communicated action and performance, but didn’t restrict itself to any one sport since the device could be worn in many different activities. The finished design felt high-tech, polished, and strong. The “runner” icon also lended itself nicely when a square logo was needed, like in apps and social media profiles.

I built a responsive website for a great experience across device sizes. I also included an ecommerce store built on the fastest-growing ecommerce platform, integrated with shipping zones and sales tax information.

Launch video promo

This sensor was essentially creating a new category of products, which required a more in-depth explanation than the average promo video so consumers could understand the product’s capabilities. By tying the product to an existing product used by the military, we were able to create instant trust and authority.

App UI/UX

Best UX practices were used to design a beautiful and easy-to-use app where end-users could access their data and get warnings from impacts. It incorporated common iOS design frameworks to make it feel native to the operating system.
